A Good Report (V) Faith and Godly Life

Scripture: II Cor 5:7, 10; Hebrews 12:28-29; I Tim 4:7-11; 6:6-11

True faith connects this life with eternity

We live by faith, not by sight.…For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive what is due him for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.”(2 Cor 5:7,10)

True faith will cause man to live a godly life

Godliness is mans relationship, attitude and responsibility towards God

Flee all ungodly things

But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness.”(1 Timothy 6:11)

Avoid godless chatter, because those who indulge in it will become more and more ungodly.”(2 Timothy 2:16)

Having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them.”(2 Timothy 3:5)

Pursue godliness

Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives' tales; rather, train yourself to be godly. For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.”(1 Timothy 4:7-8)

But godliness with contentment is great gain.(1 Timothy 6:6)
