“A People Dwelling Alone, Not Reckoning Itself Among the Nations” (7) : Becoming Disciples of the Lord

Memory Verse: For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. (Ephesians 2:10)

A) 主不僅要人信祂，更要人付代價來跟隨祂

A) The Lord not only wants us to believe in Him, but even more to pay the price and follow Him

v 門徒的要求：『讓主居首位』

v Requirement of being disciples: “That He May Have the First Place”

§ 「若有人要跟從我，就當捨己，天天背起他的十字架來跟從我。」(路9：23)

B) 做耶穌門徒的真意乃是要我們效法耶穌、「像祂」

B) The essence of being a disciple of Jesus is to conform to Jesus and “be like Him”

§ 『效法祂兒子的模樣』 (to be conformed to)：成為 神的傑作 (弗2:10a)

28我們曉得萬事都互相效力，叫愛 神的人得益處，就是按他旨意被召的人。 29 因為他預先所知道的人，就預先定下效法他兒子的模樣，使他兒子在許多弟兄中作長子。 30 預先所定下的人又召他們來；所召來的人又稱他們為義；所稱為義的人又叫他們得榮耀。(羅8:28-30)

§ To be conformed to the image of His Son: becoming God’s workmanship (Ephesians 2:10a)

²⁸ And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. ²⁹ For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. ³⁰ Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified. (Roman 8:28-30)

§ 基督至終要「率領眾子進入榮耀」(來2：10)

§ Ultimately Jesus wants to “bring many sons to glory” (Hebrews 2:10)

C) 成為主門徒的基本特徵－也是門訓基本實行之路

C) Fundamental characteristics of becoming the Lord’s disciples－also the fundamental way of implementation for discipleship

a. －遵行主道

a. －obey God’s Word

§ 耶穌…說：「你們若常常遵守我的道，就真是我的門徒...(約8:31)

§ Jesus… said: “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed…” (John 8:31)

b. －彼此相愛

b. – love one another

§ 你們若有彼此相愛的心，眾人因此就認出你們是我的門徒了。(約13:35)

§ By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another. (John 13:35)

c. －多結果子

c. – bear much fruit

§ 你們多結果子，我父就因此得榮耀，你們也就是我的門徒了。(約15:8)

§ By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples. (John 15:8)
