Jesus’ lecture（1）－The requirements and costs of being a disciple

背誦經文：「你們要進窄門。因為引到滅亡，那門是寬的，路是大的，進去的人也多； 14 引到永生，那門是窄的，路是小的，找著的人也少。」(太7:13）

Memory Verse: 「Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.」(Matthew 7:13-14)

A. 讓主居首位的愛與關係

A. Love and relationship where “that He May Have the First Place”

－「人到我這裏來，若不愛我勝過愛【愛我勝過愛：原文是恨】自己的父母、妻子、兒女、弟兄、姊妹，和自己的性命，就不能作我的門徒。」(路14:26)

－「If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple.」(Luke 14:26)

● 請特別注意本段經文的開頭：「有極多的人和耶穌同行。他轉過來對他們說…」並參考約1:38，主耶穌回頭問想跟隨衪的兩個門徒：「你們要甚麼？」

● Please especially take note of the beginning of the verse:「Now great multitudes went with Him. And He turned and said to them…」and consult John 1:38, Then Jesus turned, and seeing them following, said to them:「What do you seek?」

● 路加福音第14章這裡的『不能』在馬太福音10:37-39中是用『不配』

● The 『cannot』 in Luke 14 is replaced with 『not worthy』 in Matthew 10:37-39

B. 肯甘心捨己、背起十字架來跟從主

B. Willing to deny oneself, and take up the cross, and follow the Lord

－「凡不背著自己十字架跟從我的，也不能作我的門徒。」(路14:27)

－「And whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple.」(Luke 14:27)

C. 願意為主撇下一切

C. Willing to forsake all for the Lord

－「…你們無論甚麼人，若不撇下一切所有的，就不能作我的門徒。」 (路14:33)

－「…So likewise, whoever of you does not forsake all that he has cannot be My disciple.」 (Luke 14:33)

● 主以「失了味、全然無用的鹽」來形容跟不上這些要求的門徒－「只好丟在外面。有耳可聽的，就應當聽！【註：請特別注意15:1-2兩種截然不同的反應】」

● The Lord describes those disciples that could not keep up with the requirements as 「salt that has lost its flavor, neither fit for the land nor for the dunghill」－「but men throw it out. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!【note：notice the completely different reactions in 15:1-2】」

a. 必遵行主道、曉得真理

a. Abide in the Lord’s word, and know the truth

－「31你們若常常遵守我的道，就真是我的門徒； 32 你們必曉得真理，真理必叫你們得以自由。」(約8:31-32)

－「31 “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. 32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” 」(John 8:31-32)

b. 彼此相愛

－「你們若有彼此相愛的心，眾人因此就認出你們是我的門徒了。」(約13:35)

－「By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.」(John 13:35)

－「你們多結果子，我父就因此得榮耀，你們也就是我的門徒了。」(約15:8)

－「By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.」(John 15:8)
