A Father’s Heart and His Challenges

經文：瑪4:5-6，帖前 2:11-12，林前 4:14-15，弗 6:1-4 (西 3:20-21) ，來 12:7-8

(一) 舊約結束在一個寶貴的應許與嚴肅的警告上

(I) The OT ends on a precious promise and a serious warning

－5 「看哪，耶和華大而可畏之日未到以前，我必差遣先知以利亞到你們那裏去。 6 他必使父親的心轉向兒女，兒女的心轉向父親，免得我來咒詛遍地。」(瑪4:5-6)

- 「 5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD. 6 And he will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers, lest I come and strike the earth with a curse. 」(Malachi 4:5-6)

(二) 保羅的教導與榜樣

(II) Paul’s teaching and example

－14 我寫這話，不是叫你們羞愧，乃是警戒你們，好像我所親愛的兒女一樣。 15 你們學基督的，師傅雖有一萬，為父的卻是不多…(林前 4:14-15)

--14 I do not write these things to shame you, but as my beloved children I warn you. 15 For though you might have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet you do not have many fathers.... (1 Corinthians 4:14-15)

－你們作兒女的，要在主裏聽從父母，這是理所當然的。【西3:20－…要凡事聽從父母，因為這是主所喜悅的。】 2-3 「要孝敬父母，使你得福，在世長壽。」這是第一條帶應許的誡命。 4 你們作父親的，不要惹兒女的氣【西3:21－恐怕他們失了志氣】只要照著主的教訓和警戒養育他們。(弗 6:1-4)

-- 1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 【Colossians 3:20 Children, obey your parents in all things, for this is well pleasing to the Lord. 】2 “Honor your father and mother,” which is the first commandment with promise: 3 “that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth.” 4 And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, 【Colossians 3:21 Fathers, do not provoke your children, lest they become discouraged. 】 but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord.
