撒母耳記 (5) 大衛的早年                 02/22/09

我尋得耶西的兒子大衛、他是合我心意的人 (a man after my own heart)、凡事要遵行我的旨意 (who will do all My will)

() 藉著平凡生活培養不平凡生命的大衛

v     君王牧養的生命忠心牧養群羊,冒死搶救羊羔 (17:34 – 35a)

 

v     君王英勇的生命赤手空拳打死來襲的獅子與熊(17:35b – 36)

 

 [因此,當撒母耳初見大衛時,神對他說:「這就是他,你起來膏他!」(16:12)而且「從這日起」,耶和華的靈就大大感動大衛。(v13)

 

()凡事忠心、追求卓越的大衛

─ 無論是在牧羊、彈琴、爭戰、作戰士長、當千夫長…時都是如此

 

善於彈琴.是大有勇敢的戰士、說話合宜…耶和華也與他同在(16:18)

 

「掃羅無論差遣大衛往何處去、他都作事精明。掃羅就立他作戰士長、眾百姓和掃羅的臣僕、無不喜悅(185)

 

「以色列和猶大眾人都愛大衛,因為他領他們出入(1816)

 

 () 一心靠神、戰勝巨人歌利亞的大衛

 

     「我來豈沒有緣故嗎?」[ 大衛來正是為了要「除掉以色列的恥辱」(17:26,29)

 

—「大衛…說:你來攻擊我、是靠著刀槍和銅戟,我來攻擊你、是靠著萬軍之耶和華的名、就是你所怒罵帶領以色列軍隊的 神(17:45)

 

—「今日耶和華必將你交在我手裏,我必殺你…使普天下的人都知道以色列中有 神。
又使這眾人知道耶和華使人得勝、不是用刀用槍,因為爭戰的勝敗全在乎耶和華
(17:46b-47)

 

 

Early Years of David

 

Scriptures: I Sam. 16:11~13, 18~23; 17:20, 26~54; 18:5, 16

Memory verses: “I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after my own heart, who will do all my will.” (Acts 13:22b)

 

    I. David developed an extraordinary inner life            

       through everyday living

 

v     Character of a pasturing King: A Faithful shepherd, risking his life to save the lambs (17:34 – 35a)

v     Character of a brave king: with bare hands killed the lion and bear that

striking the flock (17:35b – 36)

 [Therefore, when Samuel saw David for the first time, [the LORD said, “Arise, anoint him; for this is the one!” (16:12). and the Spirit of the LORD came upon David from that day forward.] (v13)

 

 

II. Faithful in all things, seeking excellence

 

No matter what he did, whether he was shepherding sheep, playing harp, fighting in battles, or being a leader of the soldiers,  captain over a thousand…

[who is skillful in playing, a mighty man of valor, a man of war, prudent in speech, and a handsome person; and the LORD is with him.] (16:18)

[So David went out wherever Saul sent him, and behaved wisely. And Saul set him over the men of war, and he was accepted in the sight of all the people and also in the sight of Saul’s servants.] (185)

[But all Israel and Judah loved David, because he went out and came in before them.] (1816)

 

III. David trusted in the Lord wholeheartedly and  

       defeated Goliath the giant

 

       [ “What have I done now? Is there not a cause?”] [ David came to takes

            away the reproach from Israel.  (17:26,29)

[Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword, with

     a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the LORD

   of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.] (17:45)

[This day the LORD will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you

    and take your head from you… that all the earth may know that there is

    a God in Israel. Then all this assembly shall know that the LORD does

not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the LORD’s…”] (17:46b-47)
